"My husband has not had sex with me for seven years, I will run mad," woman begs court for divorce
A woman in Ibadan, Nigeria, is seeking a divorce from her husband because he starved her of sex for seven years.
The woman, Jelila Nurudeen, asked a Sharia Court to end her marriage to Nurudeen Olanrewaju on the grounds of sexual starvation.
Jelila, a mother of three, said her husband was subjecting her to emotional torture by starving her of sex for seven years.
According to her, all interventions made by the court as yielded no positive outcome as she believes she may “run mad if the court fails to separate us because I can no longer withstand seven years of sexual drought.”
She also added that her husband is already married to another wife who satisfies his sexual and emotional needs, leaving her empty.
Olanrewaju however, denied the allegations saying he has been living happily with his wife and he makes his wife happy.
The court urged Jelila to give peace a chance and promises to look into the matter.
